GOD WANTS HIS PEOPLE WELL AND PROSPEROUS.
Everything it takes to be a success in life - spirit, soul, body, financially and socially - in the whole realm of human existence, was covered by the blood of Jesus at Calvary. The King James version of 3 John 2 says, "(I pray) above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth".
John identifies himself in verse 1 as 'the elder', which is extremely important. These verses were written by a man who, many years earlier had walked with Jesus as a personal disciple and aide. He is the man to whom Jesus turned over His own mother when he was on the cross. If anyone understood the divine importance of words, it was John. And he said he prayed ABOVE ALL THINGS that believers would prosper and be in health AS THEIR SOUL (MIND, WILL AND EMOTIONS) PROSPERED.
Why was John so strong about this? Many years earlier he had heard Jesus preach and teach this over and over again. For example, in John 10:7 he speaks of the time Jesus referred to Himself as the 'door of the sheepfold'. And then He said 'The thief does not come, except to steal and kill and destroy. I CAME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE AND THAT THEY MAY HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.' (v.10) THIS VERSE IN THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE, CLASSIC EDITION, GIVES EVEN BETTER INSIGHT INTO WHY THE APOSTLE JOHN WROTE 3 JOHN 2: "I CAME THAT THEY MAY HAVE AND ENJOY LIFE, AND HAVE IT IN ABUNDANCE (TO THE FULL, TILL IT OVERFLOWS)." AND IN JOHN 10:11 JESUS SAYS,"I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD". When John 10:10-11 are put together, they read, "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). I am the Good Shepherd".
According to these verses, it is Jesus' calling from God as the Good Shepherd, to overflow His goodness, abundance, prosperity, and health into our lives - just as any good shepherd would do for his sheep.
Our religious unbelief and hardness of heart have in so many cases, for so many years, stopped the flow of these things. How can this be overcome? For our souls to prosper and the way to be made for us to receive healing and prosperity, WE MUST RENEW OUR MINDS (Ephesians 4:23) by filling them with THE WORD of God. WE MUST REPROGRAMME OUR MOUTHS - WHAT WE'VE BEEN SAYING - BY SPEAKING GOD'S WORD. (Proverbs 18:21) INSTEAD OF OUR PROBLEMS AND HOW BAD THINGS ARE.
Notice what King David said in Psalm 103: 1,2, & 22 -'Bless the Lord, O my soul..." He spoke directly to his soul so it would prosper, AND began rehearsing all God's benefits. He encouraged himself in The Lord, as he had done at Ziklag when the people had spoken of stoning him (1 Sam 30:6) He says, in Psalm 103:1-5 'Bless the Lord, O my soul....and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's" David is TELLING HIS SOUL to bless the Lord. THAT OUGHT TO BE THE FIRST THING THAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTHS WHEN OUR FEET TOUCH THE FLOOR IN THE MORNING.
It's time to walk in the power of 3 John 2. It's time to prosper and be well. It's time for a tsunami of God's love through us to wash over the dark, dry places of the world to bring hope and joy where there has never before been any chance of abundant life. The time is now and the message has been placed in our hands. The anointing is here. The treasure house of heaven has been poured out. Amos 9:13 says, "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the ploughman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed: and the mountains shall drop sweet wine and all the hills shall melt (that is, everything heretofore barren and unfruitful shall overflow with spiritual blessing)" Amplified Classic version. Harvesting as fast as you sow IS overflow!
Let's spend more time in the WORD. Strengthen our 'confessions of His promises' (that simply means SPEAK THEM OUT) then thank and praise Him as David did. Repent for things that are not right in our lives and change them. Make sure we put God's Word and commandment of love absolutely first place over everything else in our lives. Jesus said, 'He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father. And I will love him and will reveal Myself to him". John 14:21) The life of overflowing abundance is in the life of love. Wealth in the hands of love is most magnificent. The chains of lack cannot remain under the divine pressure of obedience to the Great Commandment of love (Matt. 22:36-38; John 13:34; James 2:8)
The short version of all this is that our soul will be well when we know and speak out the WORD OF GOD. Therefore, find out what God says in our situations, then speak it out IN FAITH AND KEEP SPEAKING IT OUT UNTIL OUR SITUATIONS COME INTO LINE WITH THE WORD...praising God all the while. Hallelujah!

HALLELUJAH & BLESS THE LOVELY LORD...YEA!!
